Mindy Boccadori, B.S.

Mindy, Carbondale Chiropractic Center staffOffice Director

As young teenager, Mindy was diagnosed with “moderately severe idiopathic scoliosis, which is an abnormal curvature of the spine. To make matters worse, a car accident at eighteen put her in a wheelchair for a few months. By the time she was a young wife and mother, she was struggling with debilitating and constant back pain. “I was referred to an orthopedic doctor who recommended spinal surgery. Imagine being told the “fix” for your problem was “a combination of rods, hooks, screws and wires attached to your spine and fused with bone”. I was horrified. Perhaps even more disturbing, was being told that after months or years of recovery, I could still expect a lifetime of pain and physical restrictions. There had to be another way.”

Mindy equates her decision to try chiropractic care as nothing less than life-altering. “I heard that Chiropractors treated back pain, so I gave it a shot. I experienced almost immediate relief. Even more importantly, chiropractic’s common-sense approach to health deeply resonated with me”.

Soon after becoming a chiropractic patient, Mindy started work as a Chiropractic Therapist at Carbondale Chiropractic Center with Dr. Louis Latimer or just “Doc” as he was known. Mindy says, “I had the unique opportunity of working with both doctors. Doc was President of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiner’s with a very successful practice. I gathered a life-times worth of knowledge and passion for chiropractic in my early years of working here.

Expanding Her Education

Leaving Carbondale Chiropractic Center back then was a tough decision, but with encouragement from friends and family, Mindy was able to return to college full time a short while later. She graduated in 2004 from Marywood University, Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Bio-Medical Philosophy. “The best way to describe the focus of my education is perhaps as “wellness philosophy” which also describes the way I strive to live.

Belief in Chiropractic

Outside of the Office

“As a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of six, I have been unbelievably fortunate. I have remained a chiropractic patient and advocate for over three decades. I live a demanding and active lifestyle. I enjoy running, kayaking, and most recently yoga. None of this would have been possible without chiropractic care.”Mindy’s return to Carbondale Chiropractic Center as Office Director allows her to share her unique experience, knowledge and passion. “I see patients, not unlike myself, getting well every day.
